Inactivity timeout
To protect your account, NestEgg will log you out automatically after 20 minutes of inactivity.
Warning before logout
Before we log you out, you will receive a popup message to let you know you have two minutes before you will be automatically logged out. The popup shows a countdown and when it reaches zero you will be logged out.
To stay logged in, simply interact with the dashboard. This will reset the timer and dismiss the warning. Or you can choose to logout at this time by clicking the logout button.
If you navigate away from the tab
When you leave NestEgg open in a background tab, this counts as inactive.
Later when you return to the tab we will check if 20 minutes have passed or not. If it has, you will be immediately logged out and you will have to login again.
Tip: If you need to step away from your desk, we recommend logging out manually before you go. This ensures your session is closed securely and avoids being logged out unexpectedly on your return.
Absolute session timeout
Regardless of activity, all sessions have a maximum length of 10 hours from the point of login. Once this limit is reached, your session will expire and you will be redirected to the login page. You will see a message on the login page letting you know that your session has expired.
This is an absolute limit and cannot be extended. Logging out and back in before the 10-hour point will start a fresh session.
Tip: If you are approaching a long working session, logging out and back in before the 10-hour limit is reached will reset your session clock and prevent any interruption to your work.
