Opening the Assess panel
To manually assess a loan application, go to the Decisions page and click the Assess button. This will open the Assess panel on the right-hand side of the screen. The panel contains the minimum fields required to return a decision, so all fields are mandatory unless otherwise stated.
Completing the assessment
The assessment begins by entering key details about the loan and applicant:
Loan details
Loan product: Select the loan product from the drop-down menu. This will only appear for lenders who have configured different loan products. Different products may use different rule sets.
Loan amount: The requested amount. This determines which lending strategy and policy rules are applied.
Repayment frequency and term: Enter the repayment frequency (e.g. weekly, monthly) and total number of repayments.
Income
Net monthly income: Enter the applicant’s income after tax and national insurance. Be sure to deduct any payroll deductions your credit union is making from this figure.
Tip: While loan purpose is optional, we recommend completing it for better analytics insights later.
Applicant information
Title, first name, and last name: Use the full legal name from the application. For example, convert “Steve” to “Steven”.
Date of birth: Required.
Address: The address field uses an address lookup tool. You can type any part of the address — such as the street name, building number, or postcode — and matching results will be shown for you to select. This ensures accurate matching, as the lookup uses the Postcode Address File provided by TransUnion.
Previous address: If the applicant has lived at their current address for less than 12 months, enter their previous address. Up to three addresses can be searched at no extra cost.
Checks
If this is a loan application (not just an ID check), you can choose to perform:
An ID check
A Bank owner check – verifies that the bank account details belong to the applicant
You can also tick the force check box to override an automatic decline based on how recently the applicant was last assessed.
