Open Banking requests and tracking

Request and track Open Banking connections from the NestEgg dashboard. Send requests to applicants, monitor connection progress, and receive instant notifications.

Applicants sometimes can't connect Open Banking during their application. Perhaps because they don't have access to the device where their credentials are stored or this was an error when trying to connect. In these cases, you can send an Open Banking request directly from the dashboard.

Sending an Open Banking request

o send an Open Banking request:

  1. Navigate to the Affordability tab, then the Uploads sub-tab

  2. Tick the Open Banking option

  3. Use the email address provided by the applicant, or enter a different address if needed


The applicant should receive the Open Banking request email almost immediately. Once sent, the request is logged in both the Affordability > Uploads sub-tab and the History tab.

Requesting additional connections

You may need to request another Open Banking connection even if the applicant has already provided one. This might be needed when:

  • The connected account contains limited transaction data

  • The payment table indicates there's another current account that should be reviewed

To request an additional connection follow the same steps as before:

  1. Navigate to the Affordability tab

  2. Open the Uploads sub-tab

  3. Send a new Open Banking request

Note: You can edit the email address in the email field if the applicant made a mistake when applying or isn't receiving the request.

Tracking requests in the History tab

The request is logged in the History tab, providing a record of the action taken. This helps track the request for future reference.

The History tab also shows you what's happening during the Open Banking connection process, including:

  • Whether the applicant is cancelling the process before completion

  • If they're experiencing any issues making the connection

This empowers you to make informed decisions about when to send additional Open Banking requests and gives you more information about the applicant's actions so you can help them more effectively.

Notifications

When an applicant completes an Open Banking connection:

  • You (the user who sent the request) receive a dashboard notification via the notification bell

  • Your organisation's specified email account receives a notification email
