Often an applicant isn't able to connect Open Banking during their application. This might be because they don't have access to the device where their credentials are stored.

Before making a request, a Loan Officer may want to confirm the applicant's email address. If there was an error in the address provided, this can be updated.

Once the Open Banking request is sent, the applicant will receive an email requesting the required information. The request will be recorded in both the Affordability and History tabs.

As shown above, the applicant should receive the Open Banking request email almost immediately. A notification pops up in the bottom right corner almost immediately after the request is sent.

What if the applicant has already made an open banking connection and we need to request another connection?

If the applicant hasn’t already provided the connection, the dashboard makes it easy to request Open Banking. This might also be used where the applicant has already provided a connection, but to an account that contains limited transaction data. The payment table may indicate that there is another Current Account.

If an Open Banking connection has already been made, simply go to the Affordability tab, open the Uploads sub-tab, and request a new one there.

Note that you can edit the email address in the applicant email field applicant has made a mistake in their email address when applying or is otherwise no receiving the request and an alternative email address needs to be used.

History Tab

The request is also logged in the History tab, providing a record of the action taken. This helps track the request for future reference.

The history tab will also show you what is happening during the Open Banking connection process, such as whether the applicant is cancelling the process before completion or if they are experiencing any issues in making the connection. For example:

This empowers you to make informed decisions about when to send additional open banking requests and gives you more information about the applicants actions so you can help them more effectively.
